UFC Featherweight, Cub Swanson, has been on the sidelines since July of last year. In his last fight, at UFC 162, Swanson dominated Dennis Siver en route to a TKO in the third round. That win was Swanson’s 5th in a row, and he looked on his way to a title shot.
Swanson instead took some time off to heal up some lingering injuries, and is ready to get back in action. Most people were calling for a Dustin Poirier rematch as a #1 contender’s fight, but Poirier was booked against Akira Corassani instead. Others believed that Swanson should take on Chad Mendes for the #1 contender’s fight, but it has yet to be booked.
Swanson took to Twitter today to ask the UFC brass for the ‘big fight’:

While Swanson did not explicitly request a title shot against Jose Aldo, it can certainly be inferred that is the bout he desires. Swanson has already fought Aldo once before, losing by way of KO in eight seconds due to a flying knee back at WEC 41. That bout was nearly five years ago, and Swanson wants his revenge.
