Denver Nuggets at Portland Trail Blazers final score: Blazers defeat Nuggets 102-96

The Portland Trail Blazers defeated the Denver Nuggets 102-96 at the Moda Center in Portland, Oregon.  The Blazers improved to 41-18, and the Nuggets fell to 25-33.

The Trail Blazers led 84-73 to begin the fourth quarter, and cruised to victory.  The Nuggets cut the deficit to six points with 8:45 to go in the fourth, but did not sniff the lead over the final minutes.

Blazers center Robin Lopez scored 18 points along with nine rebounds and two assists.  Point guard Damian Lillard netted 17 points, collected five boards, dished out two assists, and stole the ball three times.  Power forward LaMarcus Aldridge finished with 16 points, seven rebounds, and three assists.

The Nuggets failed to shoot the rock against Portland, 33 for 83 (39.8%).  The Blazers did not shoot exceptionally well, 37 for 81 (45.7%), but they got the job done.

Nuggets shooting guard Randy Foye scored 16 points and dished out four assists.  Power forward Kenneth Faried added 16 points and collected 10 boards.  Shooting guard Evan Fournier netted 16 points, grabbed seven boards, and dished out four assists.  Small forward Wilson Chandler finished with 14 points, three rebounds, and three assists, and power forward Darrell Arthur added 12 points and three boards.

Next game: The Blazers play the Lakers on Monday at 10 pm ET.  The Nuggets play the T-Wolves on Monday at 9 pm ET.
