Minnesota Timberwolves at Sacramento Kings final score: T-Wolves defeat Kings 108-97

The Minnesota Timberwolves defeated the Sacramento Kings 108-97 at Sleep Train Arena in Sacramento, CA.  The T-Wolves improved to 29-29, and the Kings fell to 20-39.

The Kings trailed by 14 points to begin the fourth quarter, but they did not give up.  After a 12-4 run late in the fourth, Sacramento was down by two points with 2:09 to go.  On the next possession, Kings power forward Jason Thompson stole the ball, and Rudy Gay drove all the way to the basket before missing a contested layup.  Instead of tying the game, the Kings lost their momentum, and the T-Wolves hit 8 of 8 free throws in the final 1:25 to seal the deal.

Shooting guard Kevin Martin led the T-Wolves with 26 points along with four rebounds, two assists, and two steals.  Power forward Kevin Love netted 22 points, collected 10 rebounds, and dished out seven assists.  Center Nikola Pekovic added 20 points and nine rebounds.  Small Forward Corey Brewer finished with 13 points, two rebounds, and two steals.

Kings small forward Rudy Gay scored 24 points along with six rebounds and two steals.  Point guard Isiah Thomas added 22 points and eight assists.  Center DeMarcus Cousins finished with 21 points and a monstrous 17 rebounds.

Next game: The Timberwolves play at Denver on Monday at 9 pm ET.  The Kings play the Pelicans on Monday at 10 pm ET on NBA TV.
