The Los Angeles Clippers defeated the New Orleans Pelicans 108-76 at the Staples Center in Los Angeles. The Clippers improved to 41-20, and the Pelicans fell to 23-36.
The Pelicans have now lost seven straight games, and didn’t have a chance after three quarters in LA. Either an attitude change or a personnel change is forthcoming.
Clippers point guard Chris Paul scored 21 points, dished out eight assists, and grabbed three boards. Power forward Blake Griffin netted 20 points and collected five rebounds. Point guard Darren Collison added 15 points and three assists. Small forward Matt Barnes finished with 14 points, six rebounds, four assists, and two steals, and shooting guard Reggie Bullock netted 11 points.
The Cans shot poorly from the field, 28 for 85 (32.9%), but also shot extremely well from the line, 17 for 19 (89.%).
Small forward Tyreke Evans scored 22 points along with nine rebounds and five assists. Shooting guard Austin Rivers netted 19 points, and center Alexis Ajinca scored 11 points and grabbed 10 boards. Center Greg Stiemsma finished with 10 points and seven rebounds.
