The Super Bowl winning Seattle Seahawks have made a couple roster moves over the last week that included releasing wide receiver Sidney Rice. Now they have to figure out which one of their many free agents they’ll be using their franchise tag on.

According to Tom Pelissero on Twitter, the Seahawks will not use their franchise tag on free agent kicker Steven Hauschka.

There’s no doubt that Steven proved to be one of the best kickers in the league last year, if not the best. Hauschka finished the regular season making 33/35 attempts, his longest being 53 yards against the Atlanta Falcons, a game where he went 4-4.

The Seahawks could let Steven test the market, but I have a strong feeling that he’s going to be representing Seattle for at least three or four more years in his career.
