Tony Parker will be back in action Sunday for the San Antonio Spurs

After missing the last six games, the San Antonio Spurs will have their star point guard, Tony Parker, back on the floor Sunday night as the team takes on the Dallas Mavericks in a Western Conference showdown.

In the last six games without him, the team has rattled off five wins. Spurs head coach Gregg Popovich never really specified what type of injury Parker had been dealing with, just describing it as a “variety of maladies.”

Although they were successful without him, he’s still the team’s leading scorer this season, averaging 17.7 points per game and you can’t replace the obvious leadership and experience that he brings to the table for this team.

Overall, the Spurs are 9-2 this season when Parker is not on the floor.

At the moment, San Antonio is 1.5 games out of the top slot in the Western Conference standings as they get poised to make a run at another NBA Championship.
