Another trade involving the Buffalo Sabres could go down soon.
According to reports from those in Dallas, Sabres forward Matt Moulson did not take part in the morning skate with the team this morning prior to tonight’s contest against the Dallas Stars. Moulson is in the building and is still scheduled to play with the team tonight, as of now.
While missing a morning skate usually means nothing, Moulson has been constantly linked to trade talks as new general manager Tim Murray looks to build the team in the way he sees fit. He is one of the players that Buffalo is expected to deal over the next 48 hours.
Buffalo got the trade dominoes falling when the team dealt franchise goaltender Ryan Miller and captain Steve Ott to St. Louis on Friday in a trade that saw goaltender Jaroslav Halak, Chris Stewart, prospect William Carrier, a first-round draft pick in 2015 and a conditional third-round draft pick in 2016 come back to the Sabres.
The NHL trade deadline is Wednesday at 3pm, and the Sabres are expected to be major sellers leading up to the final minute.
