Mets' Ike Davis out with calf tightness

Ike Davis, the source of trade rumors, roster placement, and all-around worth, is suffering a setback today.

Davis, in competition in Spring Training to be the New York Mets’ first baseman, will not be able to play in today’s game against the Braves. The move is just being viewed as a precaution, as Davis was only slated to be the DH today. Beat writer Marc Carig says that Matt Clark will play instead of Davis.

Davis thus far is 1-for-6 with a home run in Grapefruit League play.
