NBA Rumors: Kobe Bryant may not return to Los Angeles Lakers this season

Earlier today we learned that Steve Nash would likely miss the remainder of the season for the Los Angeles Lakers.

The same fate could be awaiting Kobe Bryant as a return this season is looking ‘less likely’ after Mike Bresnahan spoke with Los Angeles head coach Mike D’Antoni Monday morning.

Kobe’s return this season looks less likely. D’Antoni: “The doctors haven’t cleared Kobe so it’s a non-issue right now.” Only 6 weeks left.

There’s no reason for Kobe to return this season other than to get himself back into game shape/a return to game speed. However, with the offseason just over a month away, getting back into game shape isn’t exactly a high priority for Bryant or the Lakers.

Los Angeles will understandably by extremely cautious with Bryant potentially returning and would likely limit his floor time if he was to return.

We all know Bryant would like to, but it might be best if he takes the rest of the season off and returns at 100 percent next year.
