This Monday, March 3, continues our streak for the cash month with a solid slate of options especially this evening. Tonight the NHL, NBA, and college basketball give us plenty of options to get some green while this morning’s picks are a bit obscure and hard to predict.  Good luck on the day since it’s one full of possibilities, but also a very hard one to maneuver.  Here’s my quick take on all the picks for the day with my confidence included on a scale of 1-10:

3/3 Streak Picks

10:00- 149 Points or Fewer: While the number seems low and most streakers are flocking to the over, don’t think this is a lock by any means.  The Greek Basket League is low-scoring in general and these teams are pretty good defensively. The official over/under is 152.5 and the numbers would seem to indicate this would trend under.  I’d avoid this unless you’re in the red. Confidence-2

12:30- Giannina win or draw: Staying in Greece for our second pick we switch to soccer for the noon pick with Giannina visiting Platanias.  Platanias is 6-7-13 on the season while Giannina is mid-table with a 10-2-14 record. Giannina won 1-0 when the two sides met earlier this season and they should be able to get at least a draw in this one as well. Again, not a strong pick though, so stay away if you have a long streak from this past weekend. Confidence-3

3:00- Arouca Win: The third pick of the day is from Puortuguese soccer in another tricky prop.  Arouca isn’t as well known as Academica, but the odds are in their favor especially since Academica has been struggling mightily offensively. Confidence-3 1/2

7:02-North Carolina wins bye Double Digits: UNC has been incredibly unpredictable this season but they’ve hit their stride lately winning 11 in a row.  Their last couple wins have been close games but both of those were on the road.  At home, they’ve won five of their last seven by double digits. On the other hand, Notre Dame has dropped three of their last four. In South Bend, UNC won by 11 when the two sides met earlier this season, so I think they’ll win by more here in Chapel Hill. Confidence-7

7:03- 1st Half Leading Scorer for North Carolina: This is a cool prop for first-half scorer. Since I think UNC will be comfortably ahead, I think their top scorer will have more points than ND’s.  Confidence-4

7:04- Xavier Musketeers: This is a pick-em game according to Vegas so don’t let the records of these teams fool you.  Xavier is coming off a bit win at home over Creighton while Seton Hall has dropped six of seven. I do think the X-men are the right pick, but this game could be closer than many people think. Confidence-4

7:04- Any Other Result: North Carolina Central are 14 1/2 point favorites as they host fellow-MEAC school Savannah State.  Even though UNCC won by 14 at Savannah a couple weeks ago, I think SSU can keep this one closer. I hate giving this many points,  so I’ll take Savannah and the 14 1/2 points. Confidence- 3

7:05- Columbus Blue Jackets: Toronto has won seven in a row at home, but have struggled against Columbus this season losing 5-2 and 6-0.  If this was any other team, I’d pick the Leafs confidently, but the Blue Jackets have had their number and can claim a series sweep with a win tonight. Confidence-3 1/2

7:05- Washington Wizards: The Wiz have won six in a row even though its come mostly against the worst teams in the league.  Now they’ll take on Memphis who have been up and down lately but have consistently struggled on the road. The Grizz have won seven of ten and are favored by 1 1/2, but I think Washington continues their role at home at the Verizon Center. Confidence-5

7:35- Chicago Bulls: The Bulls have won nine of ten and each of their last four in a row.  I don’t think the Nets have the bigs to contend with Joakim Noah and Carlos Boozer especially with Kevin Garnett’s back flaring up. Confidence-4

7:35-Detroit Pistons: The Knicks have been horrible lately and were beaten badly last night by the Bulls.  The Pistons haven’t been horrible at home and are favored by 4 1/2. Confidence-5 1/2

8:05- Utah Jazz: I wouldn’t pick the Bucks over anyone at this point. Utah is a struggling young team on the second half of a back-to-back in which they lost late to Indianapolis, but I still think they’re a better pick than Milwaukee which shoes just have far the Bucks have fallen. Confidence-5

8:05- 6 Goals or More: The Sabres just traded away Ryan Miller and tonight they travel to Dallas to take on the Stars.  Dallas has won a few lower-scoring games recently but still has a potent offense. Confidence-3

8:07- Made 3-Pointer: Prop fron ND @ UNC. Confidence-1

9:05- Oklahoma State Wins by Double Digits: The Cowboys have bounced back and won three straight after Marcus Smart’s return to the team. In their most recent game, OSU beat Kansas by seven and now welcomes in K-State as 8 1/2 point favorites. K-State won by three in Manhattan earlier this season, but I think Oklahoma State is back and can be counted on to roll to the win over the Wildcats. Confidence-5

9:05- Minnesota Timberwolves: The Wolves are five-point favorites on the road in Denver where the Nuggets have been scuffling losing ten of their last eleven including a 27 point loss in Minnesota to the Wolves. While playing at altitude always is a home team advantage, the Nuggets have been so bad lately that it’s easy to pick against them. Confidence-6

9:05- Pittsburgh Wins by Double Digits: Pitt is favored by 10 1/2 at home against the NC Sate Wolfpack. NC State has struggled lately dropping four of their last five and five of their last seven road games. I’m not a big fan of Pitt, but I do think they’ll get the big win at home tonight. Confidence-4

9:10- Novak Djokovic: In the BNP Paribas showdown Djokovic takes on Andrew Murray. This is totally an exhibition and as you can see in the status alert–anything is possible. I’d take the Djoker, but this pick is as unpredictable as they come. Confidence-2

10:05- New Orleans Pelicans: New Orleans has lost seven in a row and have been getting crushed lately as they take on the team with the worst record in the Pacific Division in Sacramento.  The Kings are actually 3 1/2 point favorites, but I think think the Pelicans snap their losing streak in this one.  I’d stay away from this pick since both teams are playing pretty poorly. Confidence-3

10:35- Los Angeles Kings: The Kings host Montreal who they destroyed 6-0 in their earlier meeting this season in Montreal. The Kings have been solid at home and have won their last four in a row including all three games since the Olympic Break.  The Canadiens have also been rolling with back-to-back wins over Pittsburgh and Toronto.  I’ll take LA since they’re at home, but don’t put any long streak on this game as Montreal has been beating good teams lately. Confidence-4
