U2 drummer signs drum for letting him borrow it, belonged to Megadeath’s Shawn Drover

U2 performed at the 2014 Academy Awards since they were nominated for “Best Original Song” with their tribute song to Nelson Mandela called “Ordinary Love.”

From The Hollywood Reporter:

Bono and his U2 bandmates, including The Edge, gave an emotional performance during the Academy Awards where they sang Oscar-nominated original song, “Ordinary Love,” from the Weinstein Co. biopic, Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom.

Presented by BradPitt, the Irish rock band performed the song live for the first time. This is the band’s second Oscar nomination since 2003 for The Hands That Built America” from the 2002 film Gangs of New York and their latest song in three years.

The performance featured drummer Larry Mullen Jr using a single snare, which apparently he borrowed from Megadeath drummer Shawn Drover. He then signed the drum for Drover as a thank you, who then tweeted it out.
