Boston Celtics' Avery Bradley to have MRI Wednesday

On Tuesday, rookie big man Kelly Olynyk returned to practice for the Boston Celtics.

On Wednesday, the Celtics are hopeful they will find out another player will soon return to the court.

According to Chris Forsberg of ESPN Boston, guard Avery Bradley will have an MRI on Wednesday.

Starting shooting guard Avery Bradley is expected to undergo an MRI on Wednesday to gauge his return status. Bradley sprained his right ankle in late January and has missed 14 of the past 17 games as the team takes his return slowly.

Bradley returned for three games in early February, but has missed the last eight games and hasn’t dressed since Feb. 9.

“I just talked to [Bradley], he feels much better than he felt even before he came back the first time,” said Celtics coach Brad Stevens. “Hopefully he’s given the clearance soon. That will be depending on the MRI and the reevaluation, which will be [later this week].”

Bradley has missed the last nine games.

This season, he has played in 46 games. He’s averaging 14.3 points, 3.9 rebounds, 1.4 assists and 1.0 steals per game.
