Dustin Penner tweets Barack Obama asking to sleep at the White House after trade to Capitals

The Anaheim Ducks traded forward Dustin Penner to the Washington Capitals on the eve of Wednesday’s NHL trading deadline, but what ensued next would show the two-time Stanley Cup champion has a heckuva sense of humor as he tweeted President Barack Obama asking for some free lodging at the White House.

Penner didn’t stop there as he actually drafted an unofficial petition for the Obama to let the Capitals new left wing to crash on the couch in the East Wing, provided he supplies linens for the couch of course.

The trade deadline can be a stressful time for players and their families who have to relocate to the other side of the country in the case of Penner, but at least he hasn’t lost his sense of humor despite going from the team with the best record in the NFL to a team fighting for a spot in the postseason.
