The Braves’ starters were in the top ten last season among ERA, wins, and strikeouts while finishing third overall in innings pitched. The rotation was one of the main reasons the Braves were able to win the NL East, and it returns mostly in tact meaning there are definitely a number of good fantasy options coming out of Atlanta’s rotation.
The main differences in the Braves starting staff this season is the departure of veterans Paul Maholm and Tim Hudson. Maholm who made 26 starts last season for Atlanta signed with the Dodgers on a one year deal while Tim Hudson headed to San Francisco after starting 21 games last season before a grisly injury cut his season short.
In place of those veterans, the Braves are expected to turn to Alex Wood in a permanent role and count on Freddy Garcia, Gavin Floyd, and David Hale to provide depth. Let’s look at each of the Braves starters and their fantasy outlook for the season:
