Miami needs lots of help to become a contender in the NL East, but that doesn’t necessarily mean that there roster is devoid of fantasy baseball value. To see how important it is to monitor and know the emerging pitchers on a team like Miami, we only have to look to last season when Jose Fernandez emerged as a dominant ace who any fantasy owner would want on their team.
While this year’s staff doesn’t feature any options with quite as high a ceiling as Fernandez, there are some values to be had from Miami this season. Last season Miami starters went 38-66 despite a relatively decent 3.87 ERA due to lack of run support. Don’t get Marlins pitchers expecting wins until their lineup gets a significant upgrade, but they can help with other categories.
