Felix Hernandez throws two scoreless for Mariners

The King has returned.

Against the Los Angeles Dodgers, Felix Hernandez made his Cactus League debut, throwing two scoreless innings. He opted to mix up a lot of his pitches, throwing curves and changeups and twice stranding runners at third.

Tacoma News Tribune’s Bob Dutton has Hernandez’ final line at 2.0IP, 2H, 1BB, 1WP, 1K, and 17 of 29 pitches thrown for strikes. One of the hits was a ringing double off of the bat of Dodgers right fielder Yasiel Puig. Currently, ‘King’ Felix is operating as the only guaranteed rotation member that is fully healthy in Spring. Hisashi Iwakuma is being set back with a sprained finger and prospect Taijuan Walker is suffering from shoulder inflammation.
