According to multiple reports, the Vancouver Canucks have traded goaltender Roberto Luongo to the Florida Panthers in exchange for goaltender Jakub Markstrom.
Luongo played in Florida from 2000-2006 before being dealt to Vancouver. Though he saw success with the Canucks, Luongo’s time north of the border didn’t come without its drama. For the past few seasons, he has been the subject of constant trade talk. Last year at the deadline he even admitted that his contract “sucked” which was why he wasn’t traded then despite not wanting to be a part of the team anymore.
The NHL Trade Deadline Day is Wednesday (tomorrow). Fansided will have you covered all day long with a live rumor and deal tracker as well as up-to-the-minute breakdowns of every deal throughout the day. For even more trade talk, be sure to follow me on Twitter @TheMikeStraw.
