Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. – An Uprising is on the Horizon (Video)

Much to the happiness of fans all around the world, Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. finally returns tonight on ABC. As most of you know, the S.H.I.E.L.D. team is in a pretty tough situation after last week’s cliffhanger episode. With the life of one of their own hanging in the balance, they have set out on a mission to save her. However, this is where things get interesting. The newest trailer for the series teases an uprising. What does this mean?

According to the trailer, alliances will be severed, evil breaks free, and the Marvel Universe is changed forever. Now, we all know that they have already full on teased the emergence of Deathlok. We also know that we will be seeing Lady Sif come down to Earth from Asgard in pursuit of Lorelei; however, what else could possibly be coming?

Now, this is pure speculation at the moment, but did anyone else notice Captain America’s shield flash behind the S.H.I.E.L.D. logo at the end of the promo? Now, prior to the series starting, we were all told that there would be no direct crossover from the Marvel Cinematic Universe into the series, and while they have stuck true to their word about not involving the Avengers, they have come pretty close by involving both Nick Fury and Lady Sif into the storyline.

If you remember correctly, right before Nick Fury made his appearance on the show, the teaser showed the eagle in the S.H.I.E.L.D. logo with an eye patch on it. Could there be a possibility, even if just a slight one, that we may see Captain America in an upcoming episode of Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.? Even if it is just in a small cameo role, that would be pretty huge. As I said before, this is all purely speculation at this point, but the precedent has already been set, and as you know things can always change in the entertainment world.

Here is a look at the promo. Take a look at judge for yourselves.

What do you think? Do you think we will be seeing the Captain in a later episode as it gets closer to the release of Captain America: The Winter Soldier? Let us know what you think in the comments below.

Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. airs on Tuesday nights at 8:00 p.m. on ABC.
