On Tuesday afternoon, the Washington Redskins released defensive lineman Adam Carriker with the a “failed physical” designation. There was immediately some speculation about whether or not the team would re-sign Carriker, but that does not appear to be the case.

According to reports, Washington is not expected to re-sign Carriker even at a lower price.

John Keim of ESPN NFL Nation passed along the news.

After failing to suit up for 30 games over the course of the past season, the move to release Carriker came as no surprise. He will now need to work to prove to teams that he is healthy so that he will be able to find a new home.

If not, it is very possible that the 30-year-old defender may have seen his last action in the NFL.
