NHL Trade Deadline: Sabres, Wild Talking Halak Deal

The Minnesota Wild may have missed out on acquiring Ryan Miller, but that hasn’t stopped them from talking with the Buffalo Sabres about acquiring one of their goaltenders. According to The Fourth Period, the two teams are in the middle of trade discussion that would send Halak to the Wild.

Halak, who was acquired just last Friday in the deal that sent Ryan Miller to St. Louis, is set to become an unrestricted free agent this summer, and the Sabres are determined to deal him before Wednesday’s 3pm trade deadline.

The Fourth Period states that Buffalo is looking for a prospect and a draft pick in exchange for Halak. That being said, Fansided has learned that Buffalo is far more willing to bend its asking price for Halak compared to what it wasn’t willing to do when talking to Minnesota regarding Ryan Miller.

More to come.
