Oregon Football Recruiting: Zach Okun commits to Ducks

The Oregon Ducks are on the board for the class of 2015 after four-star offensive guard Zach Okun (Newbury Park, Calif. Newbury Park) has committed to the Ducks over offers from the Miami Hurricanes, Notre Dame Fighting Irish and Arizona State Dun Devils, among others.

The 6-4, 310-pound lineman is the No. 166 recruit overall according to the 247Sports Composite Rankings, the No. 7 guard and the No. 24 recruit in the state of California.

It was believed that the USC Trojans would be the team to beat in his recruitment, but Okun took an unofficial visit to Eugene on Mar. 3 and felt comfortable enough to end his recruitment before his junior year in high school comes to an end and to call Oregon home for the next four years.

He excels in the run game as powerful blocker and is athletic enough to keep up with the hurry-up brand of offense that Oregon runs on offense.
