Bellator 110 kicked off the promotion’s 10th season this past weekend. The event kicked off the Light Heavyweight and Featherweight tournaments in style. Quinton ‘Rampage’ Jackson sealed his ticket to the Light Heavyweight tournament finals by knocking out Christian M’Pumbu in the first round. Earlier in the night, King Mo booked his spot in the tournament final by defeating Mikhail Zayats by unanimous decision. To top off the night, Mo and Rampage had a controversial in cage scuffle that caused major uproar in the MMA community.
After the event, Bellator unveiled a brand new behind the scenes segment called Bellator ‘Uncut’. Check out Bellator 110 ‘Uncut’ in the video below.
According to reports, the show averaged 880,000 viewers throughout the night. During the main event, which was the Light Heavyweight tournament semi-final between Rampage and M’Pumbu, Bellator racked in 1.1 Million viewers.
The viewership numbers were a great start to the season for Bellator, and shows that the Rampage Jackson signing has worked. Rampage is still a big draw, and his refound ability to knock opponents out has certainly paid dividends. Expect the King Mo vs Rampage Jackson tournament final as the co-main event of Bellator’s first pay per view. With the right promotion and card, Bellator can pull in nice pay per view numbers.
