Either the Duke Blue Devils, for some reason or another really are content with being a number two seed in the NCAA Tournament, or they just really had a bad outing on Wednesday night as the fourth ranked team in the country was stunned by the Wake Fores Demon Deacons on the road, 82-72.

From the very start in this one, the Demon Deacons showed mighty Duke that they weren’t going to be taken lightly, taking a three-point lead into the half at 36-33. Many expected Duke to regroup in the locker room and take over the final 20 minutes, but that didn’t happen as they were outscored 46-39 the rest of the way to complete the upset.

Tyler Cavanaugh came off the bench for Wake Forest in this one and turned in the best individual performance in the game, dropping in 20 points while adding six rebounds to go along.

Now, after this shocker, the Blue Devils must get set for their rematch this Saturday with the North Carolina Tar Heels to end the regular season.
