Even though the Mets adjusted the fences at Citi Field before the 2012 season, Citi Field is still a pitchers’ haven ranking only behind Petco Park according to their Park Factor. Even with that being the case though, the Mets starting rotation doesn’t have many sure-fire fantasy options going into the season.
The big name in the Mets rotation, Matt Harvey, is still a long way from being ready to return. The most optimistic outlook for the ace is a September return which is looking less and less likely. In Harvey’s absence, is there any value left in the Mets starting rotation?
Last year with Harvey in the mix, the Mets starters ranked in the top ten in ERA, fewest earned runs, fewest walks allowed, and strikeouts. Especially with such a favorable home stadium, there should still be some useful Mets’ starters. Let’s look at the projected starting pitchers for New York and what fantasy relevance they have:
