NBA Rumors: Carmelo Anthony doesn't want to wait for 2015 rebuild

We’re rapidly approaching the summer of 2014, which means that Carmelo Anthony watch is going to be in full effect. With his free agency looming, coupled with the New York Knicks’ recent struggles, the only bet for him staying in New York would be if he was willing to take a big payday from the team, while also waiting for them to rebuild in 2015.

And according to Anthony’s camp, he has no interest in waiting for that rebuilding campaign.

But the Knicks’ salary-cap situation is such that if they re-sign Anthony they’ll have to wait until 2015 to add that second star. For one, I’m hearing that Anthony’s camp is interested only in the summer of 2014. They don’t want to hear about 2015. And they’re right. Anthony will be 31 with a lot of NBA miles on his legs before reinforcements arrive.

As Frank Isola pointed out in that piece from the Daily News, he’ll be 31 and have spent a good majority of his adult life in the NBA already.

But really, considering the options out there, where else can he really go to shine by himself?
