Late Wednesday, news broke from the NFL world that the defending AFC Champion Denver Broncos would be releasing veteran cornerback and future Hall of Famer, Champ Bailey. The move was a necessity, given the terms of Bailey’s contract as it saved the team $10 million, so now Bailey gets to test the free agent market for the first time in his career.

While we’re sure to hear a lot of team’s thrown out there as potential landing spots in the very near future, ESPN’s Adam Schefter points out that it would make a lot of sense for Bailey to go back home to the state of Georgia and try and help improve the struggling Atlanta Falcons.

Bailey first made a name for himself nationally after a standout career with the Georgia Bulldogs where he played on both sides of the ball at times.

And as we saw last year, the Falcons could use a bit of help on the defensive side of the ball.
