The first trade of NHL Trade Deadline day has come, and it’s Marion Gaborik going from the Columbus Blue Jackets to the Los Angeles Kings. The deal was first reported by Michael Russo of the Minneapolis Star Tribune.
Going back to Columbus is Matt Frattin, a 2nd round pick and a conditional 3rd round pick. Also, Columbus is retaining 40% of Gaborik’s remaining salary. It’s unclear if this is a part of a bigger move for either team.
