As the trade rumors continue to swirl leading up to the NHL trade deadline this afternoon, one of the most interesting stories developing involves Vancouver Canucks forward Ryan Kesler.
There are conflicting reports on whether or not Canucks general manager Mike Gillis has the power to pull the trigger on a Kesler trade, but ESPN’s Craig Custance and the Vancouver Sun are saying Gillis has the green light to make a deal happen if the compensation is great enough.
Doesn’t mean trade happens today, but am told GM Gillis has owner’s green light to make Kesler deal if right one there.

Now we will just need to see if the compensation for Vancouver will be there for the Canucks to trade away another star as they enter full rebuilding mode.
