Houston Rockets’ center Dwight Howard made his return to the Amway Center in Orlando, Florida on Wednesday night when the Orlando Magic played host the Rockets.
Early on, things did not go well for Howard.
Howard was booed when he was introduced and continued to be booed every time he touched the ball.
However, the Magic paid tribute to Howard as part of their 25th anniversary season with a video and the Rockets rallied for a victory behind 19 points and 13 rebounds from Howard and 31 points and six assists from James Harden.
After the Rockets took the lead, the Magic remained in the game despite missing their entire starting back court – veteran point guard Jameer Nelson and rookie shooting guard Victor Oladipo.
The biggest cheer of the night came when Howard had his shot blocked by second-year big man Kyle O’Quinn (who you might remember from Norfolk State’s upset of Missouri during the 2012 NCAA tournament).
Howard gets the ball and attempts to spin back to the right, a familiar move. O’Quinn greets him and blocks the shot.
