Red Bull to debut double-halfpipe event

Red Bull is continuing to show their innovation with extreme sports and the latest example will be coming to NBC on on April 12 for the Red Bull Signature Series. The event, which will actually be held in Aspen, Colorado from March 19-23 will be the Red Bull Double Pipe.

The double half pipe features side-by-side halfpipes and is being dubbed “a snowboarding event you’ve never seen.”

From the official Red Bull website:

24 of the world’s best snowboarders will descend on Aspen, Colorado to test their hand on two perfectly groomed halfpipes that is unlike anything ever seen before.

For the first time ever, two competition-spec halfpipes will be constructed side-by-side, complete with rails, wallrides, channels and other unique features sprinkled throughout the custom built snow feature.

The course will be 180 feet wide, 550 feet long and 22 feet tall.

For those who will be in the Aspen area, the event will be free to attend.

Details are vague at this time regarding the riders and exact events that will be held, but more information is expected to be announced in the coming days.
