When Tim Murray took over as the general manager of the Buffalo Sabres, the task at hand was a rather large one. Murray had to take a team that is at the bottom of the NHL, and begin a rebuild of a team in his own way.
The first major part of that rebuild happened last Friday when Murray dealt captain Steve Ott and franchise goaltender Ryan Miller to the St. Louis Blues in exchange for picks and a few players. On Wednesday, the NHL’s trade deadline, Murray continued his rebuild of the team with even more moves.
Leaving the Sabres on Wednesday were Matt Moulson, Jaroslav Halak, Cody McCormick and Brayden McNabb. Coming back to the team are Michael Neuvirth, Rostislav Klesla, Torrey Michell, Hudson Fasching,Nicholas Deslaurier, 2014 second round pick and a 2016 second round pick.
After the day was all said and done, Murray spoke to the media in Buffalo about the events that happened over the last 24 hours and his thoughts on the deals made. You can hear full audio below.
