The world is a lot closer to getting another season of the hit BBC series Sherlock – well, sort of closer. While the most current season has wrapped and fans of the show are clamoring for more of everyone’s favorite witty inspector, the BBC is moving towards new episodes that will premiere in two years time.
While no official or definite premiere dates have been given, it appears that 2016 is the earliest (and most likely) date we will see season four of Sherlock come about.
The storylines of season four of BBC hit show Sherlock are already broadly mapped out, co-creators and writers Steven Moffat and Mark Gatiss said here Tuesday night.
After season three of the detective series aired on the BBC early in the year, the fourth season is expected to be ready for 2016, but no official airdates have been announced.
This is great news for fans of the series who have been waiting for more Sherlock action. But with the rise in fame and the high demand that Benedict Cumberbatch is in, filming a new season is understandably difficult. Still, the series is moving forward and new episodes are very much int he picture for all parties involved at the BBC.
