The Los Angeles Dodgers are just a little over two weeks from opening their 2014 season in Australia against the Arizona Diamondbacks. With dings and injuries to Matt Kemp, Carl Crawford and Zack Greinke already on their list of concerns, the last thing they need is another injury to an important player.
Nothing is confirmed yet, but Ken Gurnick of MLB.com reports that Puig was pulled from tonight’s Spring Training game in the 5th inning and that he looked physically uncomfortable throughout the night.
Yasiel Puig, who looked physically uncomfortable in several at-bats, was removed from the game in the fifth inning.

This could be nothing more than a bad night rather than anything that will linger as an issue, but the Dodgers can’t like it that they have another reason to talk about Puig’s physical condition after he showed up to camp overweight last month (relatively speaking).
Puig might ruffle feathers from time to time, but the Dodgers need him on the field and making an impact this season if they want to realize the lofty expectations that would match their payroll. In the event that tonight’s apparent discomfort is an actual injury, this will be a story worth monitoring.
