The Alabama Crimson Tide stayed in-state to get their latest commitment for the class of 2015.
3-star defensive end Anfernee Jennings committed to Alabama Thursday.
Charles Power of 24/7 Sports has the scoop.
Jennings received his offer from Alabama while visiting Tuscaloosa for junior day last weekend and waited just a few days to pull the trigger in favor of the in-state school. He becomes the third in-state commitment in Alabama’s 2015 class, joining Vigor’s Desherrius Flowers and Tuscaloosa Central’s Lester Cotton.
The three-star prospect was recruited to Alabama by defensive coordinator Kirby Smart. As a junior at Dadeville, Jennings recorded 171 tackles and 7 sacks while catching 12 balls for 189 yards and 2 touchdowns.
The 6’3, 250-pound Jennings attends Dadeville High School in Dadeville, Alabama.
Jennings is considered the country’s 32nd best weak side defensive prospect, the 18th best overall prospect in the state of Alabama and 685th best overall prospect in the class of 2015 according to 24/7 Sports’ composite rankings.
Jennings chose Alabama over offers from the Arizona State Sun Devils, Arkansas Razorbacks, Louisville Cardinals, Mississippi State Bulldogs and Vanderbilt Commodores, among others.
