When you’ve lost five games in a row to your in-state rival, it’s understandable you’d be antsy for the opportunity to break the losing streak. But to start a countdown for a game that won’t even be played until November? That’s just…well, I’d say it’s “crazy,” but it is college football we’re talking about here. So, uh…normal?

SB Nation’s Garnet and Black Attack relayed Thursday that each of Clemson’s position groups has a clock in their meeting room counting down the seconds until the Tigers play the Gamecocks.

Check it out:

Clemson’s last win over South Carolina occurred back in 2008. Since then, the Gamecocks have dominated the sereis, winning by scores of 34-17, 29-7, 34-13, 27-17, and 31-17.

(I’m sure there’s some sort of South Carolina Game-clocks joke to be made here, but for the life of me I can’t think of it. Probably for the best.)
