Detroit Red Wings' Pavel Datsyuk out 3 weeks with knee injury

The Detroit Red Wings have had more than their fair share of injuries this season with captain Henrik Zetterberg, goaltender Jimmy Howard, right wing Johan Franzen and center Pavel Datsyuk all missing significant time with various injuries this season and the hits keep on coming for Mike Babcock’s team as Datsyuk will be shut down for three weeks with a knee injury.

Datsyuk has 33 points and has played in 39 of 61 games as the Red Wings currently find themselves on the outside looking in for the postseason. Detroit is in ninth place in the Eastern Conference with 68 points and in jeopardy of seeing their playoff streak that stands at 22 years come to an end.

The Red Wings acquired David Legwand at the NHL trade dealine from the Nashville Predators to try and add some offense with Datsyuk and Zetterberg out of the lineup.
