Dirk Nowitzki says Mavericks are worried

The Dallas Mavericks have lost three games and sit in eighth place in the Western Conference, the final playoff spot. They’re struggling and clinging to a one game lead over the Memphis Grizzlies for that final spot.

Star Dirk Nowitzki says the Mavericks are worried as they enter the final stretch of the season.

“You’re always worried when you lose three in a row and you only have 20 left and the West standings are the way they are,” Nowitzki said, via the Dallas Morning News. “Are we worried? Sure. Are we going to do anything about it? We’ll see this weekend.

“We got a tough two games at home. Portland beat us by 40 it felt like last time at home and Indy’s a very good team. So it doesn’t get any easier. If we lose like we did today in the second half and go down swinging when everybody plays hard and plays together, we’ll take it. But the first quarter was just embarrassing.”
