Spring Training got off to a slow start for Texas Rangers’ super prospect Jurickson Profar. He had to ease his way back into action with shoulder inflammation, shut down by the team for a week at one point.
Profar was back on the field on Thursday, and he announced his return with authority. Batting in the top of the 6th inning with the bases loaded, Profar got a pitch to handle and drove it out of right field for a grand slam (video from MLB.com).
The door has finally been kicked wide open for Profar to transition from top prospect to big league player this season. The Rangers will be thrilled if they continue to see him off to a good start this spring.
