NBA Rumors: Joakim Noah may have re-injured torn ligament thumb

The Chicago Bulls pulled out a victory against the Detroit Pistons on Wednesday night, though, it may have been costly.

Center Joakim Noah, who has been playing at an MVP level, re-injured his thumb – a thumb in which he tore ligaments in during the 2010-11 season.

The reason this injury has to be particularly concerning to the Bulls isn’t just because Noah is the team’s most valuable player, it’s because he tore ligaments in the same thumb during the 2010-2011 season and had to miss two months after getting surgery to repair the injury.

For what it’s worth, Noah doesn’t seem overly concerned about the injury – suggesting that it was nothing more than a ‘little boo boo’ and he hopes that he’ll be fine, though wouldn’t get into any specifics.

Noah suffered the original injury against the Sacramento Kings in 2010 but waited over a month to have an operation.

He will be reevaluated at some point on Thursday with hopefully positive news regarding the thumb injury.
