We still have over two months until the 2014 NFL Draft kicks off at Radio City Music Hall in New York City, so there is plenty of time for unheralded players to impress teams around the league and continue to climb up the draft boards.
For Furman offensive lineman Dakota Dozier, the time has been used wisely.
According to NFL.com’s Gil Brandt, Dozier has established himself as a potential second-round pick in the upcoming draft.
“Dozier’s draft stock has risen tremendously since early in the 2013 season and continued through a very good performance at the East-West Shrine Game,” Brandt wrote.
The Furman standout also had an impressive showing at the 2014 NFL Scouting Combine in Indianapolis, so his slow and steady descent up draft boards appears to have unquestionably landed him among the top 60 picks.
This year’s draft class has only a few quality interior linemen available, so Dozier could go even higher than anticipated if a run on the position starts early.
