Fans hurt after netting falls after Bruins game (Photos)

The netting behind the goals above the glass in NHL arenas is in place to protect fans from pucks flying into the stands. In an unusual incident at a Boston Bruins game, that netting fell injuring two fans in the process.

From the Boston Globe:

The patrons were two women in their 20s who sustained minor injuries from the falling netting, police said.

The Boston Fire Department received a report of the net down with injuries at about 9:40 p.m., but the call was canceled before they arrived at the TD Garden, said Steve MacDonald, a Fire Department spokesman.

A private ambulance company, Cataldo Ambulance Service, took the women to Massachusetts General Hospital for evaluation, officials said.

The Globe also posted pictures of the incident on their website.
