There will come a time, eventually, where Derrick Rose will be back with the Chicago Bulls for a full season. This season was rather unfortunate, however, Rose won’t be gone forever and for the long haul, he wants Carmelo Anthony with he and his group.
According to Chris Broussard of ESPN, Rose wants the team to bring in the current New York Knicks star, creating a big-three of their own in Chicago with Joakim Noah.
One source also told me Rose wants to add Anthony.
This just further adds to the speculation that Anthony could wind up in Chicago, with it already being reported that Noah was recruiting Anthony to the Windy City over the All-Star break. The conversation started with Anthony asking Noah what it’s like to play for Tom Thibodeau and turned into a full-on recruiting pitch on Noah’s part.
It certainly makes a lot of sense for Anthony to go to Chicago. It doesn’t seem like he hates the spotlight at all, while Rose sometimes seems a bit uncomfortable in the limelight. Anthony would take some of that heat off.
But, would it be enough to make them a surefire contender to the Heat and Pacers?
