Denver Broncos wide receiver Eric Decker is headed towards free agency and looking to cash in on a big pay day. In 2013, he caught 87 passes for 1,288 receiving yards and 11 touchdowns, but in free agency some are suggesting buyer beware.

From Adam Schein of NFL.com:

"I wouldn’t throw a ton of money at Decker. I wouldn’t expect him to put up the same numbers and consistently beat solid cornerbacks. One NFC general manager explained to me: “I think he’s really about to be overpaid. He’s a nice player, but he’s a product of the system and an all-time great quarterback.”"

You can’t discount the fact that he was playing with Peyton Manning who had an MVP season and probably the best statistically by any quarterback in the NFL, that helped Decker. He also played a secondary role in an offense loaded with weapons to take the attention off of him.

He might be a player that isn’t signed right away as teams wait for him to lower his asking price.
