Philadelphia 76ers' Nerlens Noel 'graduates' in rehab

The Philadelphia 76ers traded point guard Jrue Holiday in exchange for the rights to the sixth overall pick in the 2013 NBA Draft, Kentucky Wildcats’ center Nerlens Noel.

Noel tore his ACL in a February game against the Florida Gators and the 76ers knew he may not play in the 2013-14 season.

Although it looks like Noel won’t see any action this season, he has “graduated” in his rehab.

“He is (doing more). He’s slowly doing a little more physical stuff,” 76ers’ head coach Brett Brown said after Friday’s practice via Christopher A. Vito of The Delaware County Daily Times. “He’s slowly doing a little more and you can play him against another body. I highlight the word ‘slowly’ and I highlight the word ‘cautiously,’ but he’s doing it.
“A little bit more. I don’t want to paint the wrong picture. A little bit more, but he’s moving in that direction.”

Noel isn’t able to go one-on-one with teammates yet, but is now able to don full 76ers’ practice gear and work with assistant coaches on a very limited basis.
