Tom Izzo instructs team to throw ball out of bounds to get seniors in for final ovation

If you needed any other evidence that Michigan State Spartans head coach Tom Izzo is awesome, check out this video. The Spartans were holding an 18 point lead over the Iowa Hawkeyes with just over a minute remaining in the game, when Izzo decided he wanted to get his seniors in for one final ovation on senior night. Instead of getting a foul or calling a timeout, Izzo instructed his team to throw the ball out of bounds.

Denzel Valentine threw the ball out of bounds so senior Dan Chapman could get into the game.

“I would like to thank all the fans for sticking with us through this long season,” senior Keith Appling said, via MLive.com. “It’s definitely been and up and down season. We have a long way to go, and hopefully we’ll see y’all at the Final Four in Dallas.”

“We need y’all behind us, because it’s going to be tough,” senior Adreian Payne said. “We had a lot of injuries, and excuses, and now it’s time to man up and do what we gotta do.”
