The Cleveland Browns are one of the teams who are expected to target a quarterback early in the 2014 NFL Draft, but they may also be considering taking a different route to bolster their talent under center.
According to Tom Reed of The Northeast Ohio Media Group, the Browns may be considering looking at a veteran “bridge” option at quarterback that would allow them to focus on filling other needs at the top of May’s draft.
Matt Schaub of the Houston Texans, Josh McCown of the Chicago Bears, and Rex Grossman of the Washington Redskins have all been mentioned as options for Cleveland.
The Browns have plenty of cap space, so they should be able to sign any of the veteran signal-callers with ease if they ultimately choose to go that direction.
