Former Chicago Bears linebacker Brian Urlacher seems to be enjoying post-football life, spending his downtime in Arizona.

And if you like baseball, that’s a good place to live considering a handful of Major League teams make their way to the Phoenix area every Spring.

Knowing this, Urlacher, who works for Fox Sports as a football analyst, decided to make a few calls and found himself taking batting and fielding practice with the Anaheim Angels recently.

The former Pro Bowl talent worked out with the Angels prior to their game against the Chicago Cubs (ironically enough) and seemed to enjoy himself quite a bit, well, except for a moment in the cage.

Baseball may not be a ‘contact’ sport in the way way that the NFL is, but Urlacher quickly learned that if you don’t hold the bat tightly you’ll get a lightning rod of pain shot through your arm.

I learned the hard way when I was about eight. I guess nobody told Urlacher (and come on – he even had gloves on).
