There have been rumors that the Washington Redskins would target Aqib Talib in free agency for weeks (if not longer). Now we have more confirmation that such a move may take place as ESPN’s John Keim believes the Redskins could be a possible landing spot for Talib.
The one player who could be intriguing is New England’s Aqib Talib, if the Patriots somehow let him get away. Talib has remained close with Redskins secondary coach Raheem Morris, so if he decides to leave, and the money is right, then perhaps he’d come to Washington.
This wouldn’t be the first time the Redskins organization has made a play to sign Talib as last year, they wanted to bring him aboard but simply didn’t have the available funds.
The veteran has expressed an understandable desire to be paid like one of the top cornerbacks in the league and while it’s doubtful the Patriots would let him walk, the Redskins have been known to shell out absurd dollars for big name players.
