O.J. Mayo ejected for punching Greg Stiemsma in the throat (Video)

Things got heated last night when the Milwaukee Bucks and New Orleans Pelicans went at it in a game of who could be the worst team. With nothing other than lottery positioning on the line, the game was a general bore save for one moment when O.J. Mayo let his emotions get the best of him and he got physical with Greg Stiemsma.

With just over a minute left to go in the opening quarter of Friday’s game, Stiemsma tangled up Mayo on a screen set and Mayo wasn’t appreciative of how harsh the the big man was in the process. A s a result, Mayo came back and answered with his fist — connecting with Stiemsma’s throat.

Mayo was promptly ejected from the game, and Stiemsma hardly seemed fazed by the punch. Mayo has to be frustrated playing for a team that is tanking harder than anyone else in the NBA and that frustration came out in the form of a punch that landed him an ejection and will likely result in a fine as well.

Wild animal or feral human? The rules have no meaning to these thugs. Such behavior is not intensity it’s ignorance and self centered narcissism. This beast should be prosecuted for a HATE CRIME. Basketball was and always should be played as a non-contact sport, but the rules have been changed to accommodate those who cannot play within the rules. Thugs like this fella would sit the bench in my day, no matter how many points he could score. He’d foul out or be pulled for traveling, double dribble etc. in the 1st quarter. The NBA is WWE wrasslin’, no class.
