Sounders win MLS opener in stoppage time with goal from Chad Barrett

The Seattle Sounders were opening up the Major League Soccer season with a home game against Sporting KC. They were being held at home to a 0-0 draw when they were duking it out in stoppage time.

A last minute attack looked promising when the ball got a solid cross in. It took a very upward and high deflection and Clint Dempsey was there to try and head it home just about five yards out. It hit the goal post, but luckily came right back to his feet.

Dempsey tried to put it back on target but it wasn’t going in, but forward Chad Barrett was there to kick it in from point blank range. Check it out below:
